Skills: the New European Bauhaus Academy to green training in the building industry

"The New European Bauhaus Academy will play a crucial role in supporting the Pact for Skills, which aims in particular to upskill of 25% of the construction industry's workforce within five years, i.e. three million workers", says Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport on 11/04/2024.

She speaks at the Forum of the New European Bauhaus, a programme aimed at integrating the benefits of the European Green Deal into people's everyday lives, with solutions based on research and innovation.

She is launching the work of the NEB Academy Alliance, a consortium of 14 partners from 11 Member States (Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Slovenia and Sweden), coordinated by the University of Primorska, Slovenia’s third largest public university.

This alliance will set up the governance and structure of the Academy and establish a network of training hubs at EU level. It has a budget of €1 M from the EU, co-funded by Horizon Europe until April 2026.
