Horizon Europe: €112M for six calls for projects in AI and quantum technologies

"The European Commission is launching six new Horizon Europe calls for proposals under Cluster 4 'Digital, industrial and space', with a significant funding reserve of more than €112M. These calls are mainly aimed at pioneering projects in the fields of artificial intelligence and quantum technologies", announces the institution on 23/04/2024.

"AI projects will aim to improve the reliability of AI systems and provide relevant information about their decision-making processes":
• €50M is being devoted to "projects to develop new ways of combining data and extend the broad capabilities of AI models";
• €15M will be invested in "the development of robust and transparent AI systems".

With regard to stimulating research into cutting-edge quantum technologies at a global level:
• €25M will be devoted to "the creation of a pan-European network of quantum gravimeters (gravity sensors)";
• €15M will be invested in "transnational research and development projects in the field of next-generation quantum technologies".
