"Recognising the growing expectations for the engineers of the future, equipping teachers with resources and guidelines to responsibly seize the opportunities offered by AI to improve teaching and learning": these are some of the recommendations made by Cesaer (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research) on 23/04/2024.

The conference, which is publishing a white paper on the subject, wants to help "science and technology universities offer future-proof engineering education to contribute to a world in constant evolution".

"Cutting-edge science and technology have a transformative power that can shape the course of societies, and universities of science and technology have a special role to play in this regard. As major generators of scientific knowledge, technology and talent, universities are crucial to providing solutions through research, education and innovation."

Thus, "universities should adopt a holistic approach to engineering education, emphasising a strong science base while fostering curiosity about other fields as well as soft skills"…
