World's Top EdTech Companies of 2024: 64 European companies listed; the UK in the top 10

Memrise (UK), bettermarks (Germany), Learnosity (Ireland), Fuse (UK), Speexx (Germany) and Pickatale (Norway) are the six European companies that feature in the top 20 of the first edition of the World's Top EdTech Companies of 2024, published by the American magazine Time on 23/04/2024, in partnership with Statista.

This ranking was created to "identify the most successful EdTech companies in the United States" and those that are changing the education technology sector.

In the ranking, 91 of the companies are from the U.S., while 25 are from China and 64 from the EU, where 16 are from the UK.

Memrise, the first European (UK) company in the ranking, is ranked 2^nd. The British language platform was founded in 2010 and offers language courses online. 

Time says that the ranking "suggests that online learning is here to stay", with "9 of the top 15 most successful EdTech companies in the world focused on providing online learning".
