"In a polarising world, cooperation between civil societies is very important, and one of the most effective forms of cooperation is that between scientific communities", Sébastien Treyer, Director of Iddri (Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations), tells News Tank.

This independent research institute was set up in 2002 by several National Research Organisations (NRO) and ministries. "Our role is to be constantly attentive to how political decision-makers express and pose the problem of international negotiations on the climate, biodiversity or the financing of development so that we can propose other ways of looking at this problem of collective action and come up with new solutions."

Iddri was thus present at the 28^th edition of the COP Climate in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) from 30/11 to 12/12/2023. "We were essentially going there to ensure that the political decision negotiated by the ministers included a reference to what needs to be done in terms of additional international cooperation."
