FP10: The Guild's recommendations for the future European R&I framework programme

Ensure an ambitious and stable budget for the European R&I Framework Programme, invest in the best performing parts of the programme to strengthen European scientific leadership, adopt a renewed approach to global challenges that stimulates the creativity of excellent researchers and innovators... These are some of the recommendations made by The Guild of European research-intensive universities on 15/05/2024 to make FP10 a programme of excellence, 

Europe's research-intensive universities are calling for the next European R&I Framework Programme to be allocated a budget of at least €200 Bn. This amount is "necessary to demonstrate the will to build European excellence in R&I as a prerequisite for European competitiveness".

They also recommend continuing to promote openness and academic freedom, recognising the connectivity between research and innovation, further facilitating international cooperation while promoting better risk management, and allowing FP10 to set standards of excellence while guaranteeing capacity-building support for "widening countries" (EU enlargement…
