FP10: "An evolution rather than a revolution, building on what works" (Leru)

"For FP10, Leru envisages evolution rather than revolution, building on those aspects or parts of Horizon Europe and its predecessors that have demonstrated added value, impact and attractiveness", the association says on 15/05/2024.

Leru is therefore calling for the European Research Council, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and the Pathfinder and Transition programmes of the European Innovation Council to be strengthened by increasing their budgets.

The association would also like fundamental research to be given greater prominence in the next programme, and for support for research infrastructures and collaborative funding geared towards European priorities to be continued.

The issue of budget and investment in R&I is also raised in the guide for the framework programme. According to research-intensive universities, more research and innovation are needed to sustain the EU in a changing world. Investment must therefore follow.
