"An adequate and stable budget for FP10 is imperative" (President of the EU Research Council)

"The Council confirms that an adequate and stable budget during the implementation phase of the FP10 programme is imperative", says Willy Borsus, President of the EU Council on research in his capacity as Belgian Minister for R&I, after the EU Council meeting of all the European ministers responsible for research on 23/05/2024.

During the Council meeting, the issues of extending the objectives of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking to the field of AI, the importance of R&I in advanced materials, the safety of research, the knowledge valorisation and the ex-post evaluation of Horizon 2020 with a view to establishing the next FP were discussed.

"Once we have set the priorities for FP10, we will have to maintain these ambitions by keeping the programme stable over time. We must not spread ourselves too thinly", declares Sylvie Retailleau, French Minister for Research, Innovation and Higher Education, who News Tank was able to meet before the start of the meeting.
