The Bologna Process: "There is still work to be done"; three recommendations from Enqa

"Quality assurance is a major achievement of the EHEA, but the association recognises that there is still work to be done, both to meet existing commitments and to ensure that our common framework remains relevant to the changing higher education environment", says Enqa, the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, on 17/05/2024.

Enqa is making three recommendations to the Education Ministers of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), who will be meeting at the Ministerial Conference of the Bologna Process 2024 in Tirana (Albania) on 29 and 30/05.

The association points out that "as the EHEA has grown, the development of quality assurance has been uneven, and there are still several countries where there is no agency aligned with the ESG (European standards and guidelines)".

Secondly, "as higher education adapts to new challenges and seizes new opportunities brought about by a rapidly changing environment, the ESG must evolve to remain relevant and fit for purpose.
