"The data shows that progress is too slow, especially in the field of automatic recognition and cross-border quality assurance", states Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, Director-General of the DG EAC, the 29/05/2024 in the European Commission after reading the Bologna Process Implementation Report 2024 published the same day.

The report is presented at the EHEA Ministerial Conference in Tirana (Albania) by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency the same day.

It shows the measures that have been taken and gives an idea of the work to be carried out before meeting the objectives of the vision of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) by 2030, set out in the Rome Communiqué of 2020. It assesses the extent to which political commitments have been implemented.

According to Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, some of the main key findings of the report are that:

• "most countries have adopted agreements on comparable degree structures;
• the principles of the Lisbon Recognition Convention on higher education qualifications are now included in legislation across 31 countries, while 19 countries…
