Deep Consortium formed by seven Swiss universities to explore digitalisation in primary schools

"Seven Swiss universities, coordinated by EPFL and Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich, have formed the Deep consortium (Digital Education for Equity in Primary schools) to explore the impact of the digital transformation for school education and investigate how to ensure an equitable and effective digitalisation of Swiss primary schools", announces EPFL on 06/06/2024.

The new consortium brings together teacher training Swiss universities such as Pädagogische Hochschule Zürich, Fhnw - Pädagogische Hochschule, Pädagogische Hochschule St.Gallen and Pädagogische Hochschule Schwyz, in addition to the universities of Geneva and Lausanne and EPFL.

This configuration aims to create "a community of diverse disciplines, expertise and methodological approaches".

"Deep is a research consortium that aims to clarify the foundations, challenges, and consequences of the digital transformation for Swiss primary schools. The aim is to contribute to an equitable and sustainable digitalisation in the early years of school education", can one read on the consortium's website.
