Educ Wide: Educ alliance's project to "reduce disparities in research excellence" (F. Renouard)

"Educ Wide focuses on fostering inclusive development of the European Research Area, reducing disparities in research excellence and research culture within and beyond the EU, and strengthening European position in global R&I cooperation", presents Frédéric Renouard, Coordinator of the Educ European University Alliance in Rennes (France), in an interview with News Tank on 05/06/2024.

The coordinator explains the alliance's latest project, Educ Wide, which started in March 2024 in response to the Commission's call for widening projects in Horizon Europe to encourage EU enlargement countries to participate more in the framework programme.

"With Educ Wide, the aim is to create a dynamic in which we gradually give responsibility for these projects to central European countries.

The University of Masaryk (Czech Republic) coordinates Educ Wide, and for each of the six work packages there is a lead from the West and a co-lead from Central Europe for 18 months, and then we switch."
