Emerge alliance: "Obtaining the recognition and funding of a European university"

"We submitted the application for our alliance of European universities, named Emerge, for the fourth time in February. We were helped by a specialist consultancy to optimise our application. We are working on various aspects of our project, always with the aim of obtaining the recognition and funding of a European university", Lesley Lelourec, Europe/Emerge alliance project manager at Rennes 2 University (France), tells News Tank on 04/06/2024.

The nine-member alliance, which focuses on strengthening Europe's margins, will find out whether its application has been successful once the results of the European Commission's latest call for the "European University" label are made public in the summer of 2024.

While Rennes 2 orginally was the alliance's coordinating university, this responsibility was transferred to the Irish University of Limerick after a year.

Alongside this main project, "we have already launched several European projects:
• two Erasmus Mundus and strategic partnerships in Erasmus+ Key Action 2;
• a Horizon Europe project on strengthening European linguistic capital…
