QS Europe 2025: ETH Zurich supplanting Oxford, British universities still dominating top ten

ETH Zurich arrives first in the QS Europe 2025, earning the title of best European university by supplanting the University of Oxford (UK), precedent holder of the title and ranking third this year, according to the QS Europe 2025 ranking published on 10/07/2024 by Quacquarelli Symonds, global analyst of higher education. In second place is the Imperial College London (UK), up from fourth in 2024.

Of the 684 European institutions from 42 countries ranked in the QS 2025, the United Kingdom has the most, with 103 universities ranked, followed by Turkey (72), Germany (53), Italy (51) and France (49).

The UK is again most present in the top ten, with seven universities being British. Spanish universities make important progressions: the University of Deusto goes up 108 ranks, the Universitat de Valencia goes up 44 ranks, the Universidad de Córdoba - España climbs 38 ranks and the Universitat Ramon Llull gains 33 ranks.
