EUA: A Leadership Development Programme for 20 senior university leaders; applications in September

"Starting in April 2025, the European University Association will bring together up to 20 senior university leaders for a pilot Leadership Development Programme that fosters exceptional leadership skills with a distinct European perspective", announces the EUA on 16/07/2024.

The idea for the project was first mooted in November 2023, when Thomas Estermann, Director of Governance, Funding and Policy Development at the EUA, told News Tank in an interview:

"There is a demand for training at European level because of the lack of leadership development in certain higher education systems and at European level.

In addition, support for leadership development is fairly scattered across Europe: some education systems include institutional or systemic programmes. However, leadership development is not supported in other systems, or at least not through formal programmes."
