European institutions and countries to support Palestinian students access education amid conflict

The Mediterranean Universities Union (Unimed) launched an initiative to support Palestinian students in pursuing their studies in the context of the war with Israel, called Technical Education Support for Higher Education Students (Tesi Initiative) on 27/02/2024, which now supports 750 students through online courses in its pilot phase, declares Unimed on 31/07/2024.

The Tesi Initiative aims to see universities offer courses, learning resources or other kinds of support to meet the specific needs of Gazan students, granting them access both in online and offline ways and allowing them to continue their studies.

"Almost 100 universities and individual professors from all around the world expressed their interest in participating, we are finalising the project and discussing the contribution of the universities", says the organisation.

The initiative was launched by An-Najah National University, located in Nablus (Northern Palestine), in cooperation with Unimed and the Palestinian Student Scholarship Fund (PSSF).
