Tenth edition of iCapital Awards: 12 semi-finalists selected in two categories

The 12 cities selected as semi-finalists in the tenth edition of the iCapital Awards are announced by the European Commission's European Innovation Council on 28/08/2024.

"The award recognises cities that adopt innovative governance practices and position themselves as role models for others, pushing back the frontiers of technology to improve the lives of their citizens", states the EIC.

These 12 semi-finalists are divided into two categories. The following have been selected for the European Capital of Innovation category:

- Bristol (United Kingdom)
- Espoo (Finland)
- Tallinn (Estonia)
- Tampere (Finland)
- Torino (Italy)
- West Midlands Combined Authority (United Kingdom)

For the European Rising Innovative City category:

- Braga (Portugal)
- Brugge (Belgium)
- Leiden (The Netherlands)
- Linz (Austria)
- Oulu (Finland)
- Tartu (Estonia)

In September, each city will be invited to an online audition with the members of the jury, who will then select three finalist cities per category.
