"Ranking organisations and universities are adapting to students' new expectations" (L. Andrade, QS)

"We are here at the 34^th EAIE conference to show what indicators to look for and how they work, find new partnerships, and showcase our work", says Leonardo Andrade, Head Of Client Partnerships UK and Europe at Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), to News Tank on 19/09/2024.

The global higher education analyst is attending the EAIE conference taking place in Toulouse (France) from 17 to 20/09/2024.

According to Leonardo Andrade, QS is looking to make new connections but also doing some pedagogy: "We try to explain to higher education professionals, institutions and students how to use our rankings. Often people focus on the ranks and which university or programme is first, but it isn't how to best use them."

"Rankings are based on several different criteria (internationalisation, employability, sustainability, research performance, campus quality,...) and students can choose which aspects of the universities are most important to them", states Leonardo Andrade.

According to him, these criteria are evolving with the generations of students: "We are adapting to students' new expectations."
