EUA Funding Forum 2024: "Having enough funding to support society's priorities" (Josep M. Garrell)

"If we look at our universities today, we see an expansion in what we do in order to achieve society's priorities. The problem is clear: if we need to do more things than ever before, how do we prioritise? It's a leadership challenge. But often, it's not just about leadership or prioritisation—it’s about having enough funding to support these priorities", states Josep M. Garrell, President of the EUA, at the EUA Funding Forum on 03/10/2024.

This Forum, titled 'Sense & sustainability: future paths for university finances' is hosted by the University of Helsinki (Finland) on 03 and 04/10/2024.

Sari Lindblom, rector of the university, indicates that "the significance of research and education in Europe remains high, but it is shaped by a complex interplay of factors, such as political decisions, economic resources, and societal attitudes.
