Education in 2050 : "We need to start thinking about coexisting with super-intelligent machines"

"By 2050, it seems absolutely reasonable that we would be coexisting with super-intelligent machines that perform at or above human level on most, if not all, cognitive tasks. As leaders and educators, we need to start thinking about that", says Valérie Pisano, CEO of Mila (Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute), at the Humane.s summit in New York (U.S.) on 22/09/2024.

The first Human Education Summit, or Humane.s, is being held as part of United Nations Week and aims to "meet university leaders' need for visibility on the impact of AI. It also provides an opportunity to express the expectations of businesses in the face of the current transition", Delphine Le Serre and François Firmin told News Tank on 22/08/2024. The two live in Canada and are a part of the Edhu2050 Foundation organising the event.
