Sustainability of university alliances funding: "Leadership must be fully engaged" (E. Tschirhart)

"Ultimately, the future of alliance collaborations depends on the level of commitment from university leadership. If presidents, vice-presidents, and senior management aren’t fully engaged, it will be challenging to sustain progress", says Eric Tschirhart, Special Advisor to the Rector for Universeh European University, University of Luxembourg, on 04/10/2024.

He is speaking at a plenary session entitled "Sense & sustainability of university alliances" as part of the EUA Funding Forum, taking place in Helsinki (Finland) on 03 and 04/10/2024. This session examines strategies for sustaining successful alliances over the long term.

According to Tine Delva, Deputy Head of Unit Higher Education at the DG EAC of the European Commission, "for European Universities Initiative to reach its full potential and to succeed, continued European funding is necessary, as well as sustained commitment from the sector to achieve the initiative's ambitions.
