"Promoting intercultural learning is key to maintaining peace in Europe in a world that is more and more polarised and complex", says Tine Delva, Deputy Head of Unit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture on 05/11/2024, during the Charm-EU annual conference, taking place at Eötvös Loránd University (Elte) in Budapest (Hungary).

This conference is followed by the first Charm-EU Cultural Festival: The Charm-EU Days 2024, with 200 universities and several events organised by Charm-EU members. The festival focuses on "the broad concept of culture and intercultural learning, embracing the richness of diversity within European University Alliances and celebrating it as a source of strength and inspiration".

This conference aims to reflect on the meaning and practice of intercultural learning, "a core value" for alliances, according to Charm-EU, which is developing an intercultural preparatory course providing intercultural training for over 10,000 students embarking on mobility programmes from Charm-EU universities.
