University of Paderborn (Germany) : Matthias Bauer elected President

Matthias Bauer is elected as the President of the University of Paderborn and will take his position in April 2025, succeeding Birgitt Riegraf, says the German university on 08/11/2024.

Matthias Bauer currently holds the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry for Sustainable Processes at the University of Paderborn and was until recently Dean of Research at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

The university's electoral assembly voted unanimously for the professor after he presented his strategy for the administration and answered questions from the university audience.

"Matthias Bauer is a member of numerous scientific committees and communities, which also contributes to the excellent academic network at the University of Paderborn. Since 2020, he has also been an elected member of a review committee of the German Research Foundation (DFG), which is involved in reviewing funding proposals and designing and developing DFG funding programmes in his field of research", indicates the university.
