Roxana Minzatu, VP of the Commission for Education, "committed to strengthening Erasmus+"

"I am committed to making Erasmus+ stronger. It currently funds key initiatives, such as European University alliances that represent a blueprint for the future—a way to combat brain drain and create opportunities for our students. This approach should extend to schools as well", states Roxana Mînzatu, Commissioner-designate for the role of Executive Vice-President responsible for human resources, skills and preparation, during her hearing at the European Parliament on 12/11/2024. Her responsibilities will include skills and education.

"Together, we will shape the next phase of this programme, ensuring it remains financially sound in the next Multiannual Financial Framework. I can promise you that", she adds.

She also says she believes in the potential of European universities and the European degree, even though she is aware that discussions on academic autonomy and the divergent positions of the member states pose challenges to progress on these issues.
