Alliances bring more prestige, status and public trust in the institutions (EUI survey)

Raising the profile of the institution in terms of status and prestige at the national level and globally is selected by 90% of respondents as the main area of impact of being in a European university alliance, can we learn in the Higher Education Informal Diplomacy Survey, presented on 21/11/2024 at the Kind (Knowledge and Informal Diplomacy) Conference by the European University Institute's School of Transnational Governance.

Participants also picked "increasing of public trust in the institutions’ knowledge exchange and impact activities (77.1%) and public confidence in the institutions’ teaching and learning activities (68.8%)" as the main areas of impact of the European University Initiative, encompassing 64 European universities alliances.

The survey aims to "gather information on the institutional characteristics of alliances and examine how these, combined with stakeholder interactions, enable institutions to act as agents of informal diplomacy".

The goal is also to understand institutional context and dynamics, as well as issues related to the SDGs.
