ERC Consolidator grants 2024: €678 M for 328 winners, Germany leads the way with 67 winning projects

Germany is the country hosting the most winners of the European Research Council's Consolidator grant in 2024 with 67 projects, followed by France and the United Kingdom with 38 recipients, according to the results published on 03/12/2024.

The 328 winners share €678 M, compared with €627 M for 308 winners in 2023. The success rate is 14.2%, i.e. 0.3% less than in 2023 and 2022 out of a total of 2,313 applications received (+8.6% compared with 2023).

The beneficiaries are 94 in life sciences, 131 in physical sciences and engineering and 103 in social sciences and humanities.

Nationals from 43 countries are among the winners of this call, including Germans (60 researchers), French (34) and Italians (29).

The Consolidator Grant is a five-year grant of up to €2 M (with the possibility of an additional €1 M), intended for researchers who obtained their doctorate between 7 and 12 years ago, to consolidate their scientific independence and develop innovative projects in all fields.
