Swiss universities : "Sustainable development still underrepresented" (WWF sustainability rating)

"Despite significant progress, particularly in the areas of governance and operations, sustainable development and education for sustainable development are still underrepresented in training provision in Swiss universities and need targeted encouragement", says the Swiss World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) on 08/11/2024, reporting on its fourth annual WWF Swiss universities sustainability rating.

"Out of 29 universities, 17 are ranked in the top half of the league table. This result shows that many universities are well on the way to integrating sustainability into their operations and structures and, to a lesser extent, into their teaching and research activities.

In education, on the other hand, sustainable development does not occupy a sufficiently prominent place, since for many students it remains a negligible option, or even non-existent, rather than an integral part of their entire curriculum".
