QS Sustainability 2025: UK, Australia and Canada among most sutainable; University of Toronto first

The University of Toronto (Canada) is ranked first in the QS Sustainability Ranking 2025, followed by ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and third place is a tie between the University of California, Berkeley (US) and Lund University (Sweden), according to the ranking published on 10/12/2024 by QS.

The top 20 is dominated by British institutions (7), with Australian and Canadian universities also strongly present (3 entries each). Contrary to academic or performance rankings, the US isn't dominating the top of the list, with their first entry after the University of California, Berkeley being Pennsylvania State University, ranked 19^th.

The QS ranking of sustainability "evaluates the social and environmental impact of universities as centres of education and research, as well as major employers with the operational sustainability challenges of any large and complex organisation", says QS.
