FP10: "A dedicated and autonomous fund based on seven priorities", including excellence (G6)

The G6 network, bringing together the CNR, the CNRS, the CSIC, Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft/Helmholtz Association, Leibniz-Gemeinschaft and Max Planck Societ "calls for the European research and innovation policy to be strategically reoriented" in a position paper about the FP10 on 18/12/2024.

The six European multidisciplinary research organisations, representing 135,000 researchers, advocate for "the needs for the ecosystem to be supported by a dedicated and autonomous fund that would be complementary to the regional competitiveness fund and cover the early stages of technological preparation while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration projects".

This dedicated fund should be based on seven priorities, including:

• the focus on excellence,
• international cooperation,
• the simplification of administrative procedures.

They also stress "the importance of the synergies between fundamental research and industrial innovation and of investing in a competitive European ecosystem".
