Universities UK: Nigel Carrington appointed Chair of the taskforce on efficiency and transformation

Nigel Carrington, former Vice Chancellor at the University of the Arts London (UK) and international Mergers & Acquisitions lawyer, is appointed by Universities UK as the Chair of its taskforce on efficiency and transformation in higher education, announces the voice of 141 universities in the UK on 19/12/2024.

As Vice-Chancellor at the University of the Arts London (UAL) between 2008 and 2021, Nigel Carrington led the transformation of the university "from a collection of six distinct arts, design and communications colleges operating under a shared university banner into a globally recognised institution. Under his leadership, UAL became one of the world’s leading universities for art and design", indicates UUK.

He will lead a taskforce which will look at ways in which universities can collaborate "after years of working to reduce costs individually" and deliver transformation and cost savings through new models and ways of working.
