Polish Presidency: "We build Europe’s competitiveness in the global race for innovation" (D. Tusk)

"Together, we are building a unified foundation for economic security - Europe’s competitiveness in the global race for innovation and technological development. We aim to remain competitive, which is why we will work to reduce barriers for industry and entrepreneurs", says Donald Tusk, Polish Prime Minister, on 01/01/2025, the day Poland took over the rotating presidency of the EU Council from Hungary for the next six months.

The Presidency plans to "emphasise the potential of science and innovation and the framework programme, in particular for strengthening EU competitiveness, security in various dimensions, economic resilience and reducing strategic dependencies".

In the area of research in particular, it focuses on openness and synergy by emphasising the need for inclusive action, as well as the necessity to stimulate new pan-European collaborative networks in R&I.

The Presidency also plans to "stimulate the full exploitation of the EU’s potential and talents and the synergies between the different funding sources".
