University of Umeå (Sweden), the ninth member of EC2U alliance on 01/2025

The EC2U alliance is adding a ninth university, the University of Umeå in Sweden, News Tank learns on 08/01/2025. It is set to play a full part in the Alliance's activities in 2025, participating in its governance and in existing activities.

"Umeå University is fully aligned with the values and vision of the EC2U Alliance. Research-driven. Student-centred. Engaged. These strengths are mirrored in all EC2U Partner Universities and the integration of Umeå University will further enhance EC2U’s capacity to empower its growing community", states the alliance.

Umeå University, one of Sweden's largest higher education institutions, hosts approximately 38,000 students and 4,600 staff members. It offers over 40 undergraduate and Master’s programmes across diverse fields such as science, technology, social sciences, business, health, medicine, and the arts. There are 150 study programmes and 1,800 courses, including 450 taught in English.
