EIT: Launch of a Knowledge and Innovation Community on water; initial budget of €5 M in 2026

The EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) launches a new call for the creation of its tenth KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community), EIT Water, announces the European Commission on 16/01/2025.

EIT Water, with an initial budget of up to €5 M in 2026, will concentrate on the aquatic, marine and maritime sectors and ecosystems. It aims to address critical challenges such as water scarcity, droughts, floods, and the degradation of marine and freshwater resources.

"Our new Knowledge and Innovation Community will foster collaboration investing in one of the globe’s most precious natural resources. We invite leaders in the water-related sectors to come together with their partners from across Europe and propose bold and impact-driven proposals ready to experiment and challenge the status quo, boosting Europe’s competitiveness", states Stefan Dobrev, Chairperson of the EIT Governing Board.

The EIT invites universities, research institutes and companies to present their vision and strategy in their application until 17/06/2025.
