EIC Transition: €94M to 40 winners for the 2024 intake; Denmark 1st country in winners/inhabitants

40 innovation projects have been selected as winners of the European Innovation Council's September 2024 call for Transition projects, for a total estimated grant of €94M, the EIC announced on 22/01/2025. In 2023, there were 27 winners for €65M.

"Significant proportion of those projects originates from the European Research Council Proof of Concept projects (19). It is also the first time when actions stemming from Horizon Europe pillar 2 and Horizon 2020 societal challenges and Leadership in Industrial Technologies could apple for the scheme," says the EIC.

France leads the way with seven winners, followed by Spain with six, the Netherlands with five, and Germany and Denmark with five.

Denmark has the most award winners per 1 million inhabitants (0.67), followed by the Netherlands (0.27).

This call was the most popular in terms of the number of submissions since the creation of the EIC Transition, with 413 applications. The proposals selected from the 390 eligible submissions will receive a grant of up to €2.5M. The selected participants come from 21 EU Member States and countries…
