Future of business schools: "Geographical and cultural mobility is questioned" (D. Manceau, Neoma)

"We are living in an environment where geographical and cultural mobility is being questioned. In the Netherlands, welcoming international students is now restricted. Canada, and Quebec in particular, is experiencing similar dynamics. This phenomenon is affecting the whole of higher education, but it is particularly affecting business schools," says Delphine Manceau, Director of Neoma (French business school), on 14/01/2025.

A member of the AACSB board since June 2023, she sets out the major challenges facing higher education by 2025.

She also observes a decline in students going abroad: "Some countries are sending fewer students abroad, such as China and Canada. I was surprised to learn that Canadian students are showing a declining interest in Europe. The job market is much more favourable in their own country, which makes them less curious and less inclined to study in Europe", she explains.
