Union of Skills due 05/03/2025: The Guild and Yerun's recommendations

"To strengthen their education, research and innovation to the benefit of society, universities must receive appropriate resources that enable them to embrace challenges stemming from digitalisation, crossing disciplinary boundaries, global cooperation, evolving educational demands, and societal engagement. It is crucial that the funding mechanisms encourage experimentation when developing and rolling out innovative approaches", writes The Guild on 25/02/2025.

With the European Commission due to publish its Union of Skills (a transformative initiative for the European Union, strengthening education, skills, and overall competitiveness) on 05/03/2025, two university associations, The Guild and Yerun, are putting forward their visions for this initiative.

According to Yerun, in its position paper from 20/02/2025, "Europe’s competitiveness requires high-quality skills which enable individuals to be innovative and creative to challenge the status quo".
