Horizon Europe: Ekaterina Zaharieva calls for India to be associated

Ekaterina Zaharieva, EU Commissioner for Start-ups, Research and Innovation, announces that she invites Jitendra Singh, Indian Science Minister, to consider associating India to Horizon Europe, on 28/02/2025.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, accompanied by the College of Commissioners, is in New Delhi to meet the Indian government on 27 and 28/02/2025. On this occasion, the Commissioner met with Jitendra Singh.

According to her, the association of India to Horizon Europe would enable successful collaboration in "important areas like climate neutrality, disaster prevention, oceans, quantum, biotech, semiconductors, security and defense, AI, and space". India already collaborates with the EU on research and innovation through Horizon Europe. Most topics are open to Indian participants, but they must secure their own funding.

During this visit to New Delhi (India), the second ministerial meeting of the Trade and Technology Council is held.
