€485 M of national and European investment to roll out six new AI factories across Europe by 2026

The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking selects six new sites across Europe to host additional AI Factories with a combined national and European investment of around €485 M, announces the European Commission on 12/03/2025. They are set to be deployed in 2026 in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland, and Slovenia and will be added to the seven AI Factories previously selected.

"France and Germany will establish AI Factories, which operate alongside Europe’s first exascale supercomputers, Alice Recoque and Jupiter, indicates the Commission. The AI Factory in Germany will also include an experimental platform, which will serve as a cutting-edge infrastructure for developing and testing innovative AI models and applications, as well as promoting collaboration across Europe".

The projects in Austria, Bulgaria, Poland and Slovenia will deploy new AI-optimised systems with AI Factories to further expand Europe’s AI infrastructure.
