New European Bauhaus Facility: €360 M from Horizon Europe to revitalise neighbourhoods through R&I

The European Commission publishes its roadmap for implementing the New European Bauhaus (Neb) Facility- a funding tool for the New European Bauhaus that fosters the development and scaling up of innovative solutions for the transformation of neighbourhoods, with an important R&I component, on 27/03/2025.

The Neb Facility will focus on three major R&I themes, according to the Commission:
• "Connecting the green transformation, social inclusion, and local democracy,
• Circular and regenerative approaches for the built environment,
• Innovative funding and new business models for the built environment, with the goal of enhancing their transformative impact".

This section supports basic research, testing, and demonstration projects, with Horizon Europe allocating approximately €120 M annually from 2025 to 2027. The R&I component benefits from a dedicated Horizon Europe National Contact Points configuration.

The facility also has a roll-out component to "build on support from EU programmes, like the Cohesion Policy, beyond Horizon Europe to scale, deploy, and implement innovative solutions…
