Columbia University: Resignation of interim President after institution abided by Trump's demands

Katrina Armstrong, Columbia University’s interim President, resigns effective immediately, announces the American university on 28/03/2025. Claire Shipman, the Board of Trustees Co-Chair, is appointed Acting President and will serve until the Board completes its presidential search.

This is the second resignation of a President of Columbia University in less than a year, after Minouche Shafik resigned in August 2024 amid accusations of antisemitism on campus, weeks after the beginning of a pro-Palestinian student movement opposing the war in Gaza, during which she authorised police officers to enter the campus, leading to the arrests of about 100 students.
