"The objective of the European degree is for students to be able to benefit from what Europe can offer, have a competitive Europe and for companies to find the workforce they need", indicates Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Member of the Cabinet of Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu at European Commission, on 01/04/2025.

She is speaking during the 'Leru Talks - The European Degree: desirability, feasibility and viability', a session of the Leru Talks series dedicated to how the ideas around the European degree are taking shape.

"If we want to be competitive, we need Europe to be able to offer top-notch innovative joint degree programmes, especially in sectors where Europe lacks autonomy. We have the knowledge, but it is fragmented between different universities. The only way to play our part as European partners is to cooperate and pull that knowledge together", she adds.
