"The universities' greatest strength is their people. If institutions have the right people and are satisfied with their job, it's the best possible output", states Ivanka Popovic, Vice-President of the EUA Board, on 10/04/2025.

She is speaking during the EUA Annual Conference, taking place on 10 and 11/04 in Riga (Latvia), while she moderates the plenary titled "Towards sustainable and attractive academic careers". The session is dedicated to presenting the work of a Task and Finish group on career assessment she chaired.

A document presenting the results will be published in May. It complements the Coara (Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment) working group and must not be taken as "a final statement." It's a step toward motivating universities to rethink their career assessment strategies.

Professional development, recognition and rewards, as well as diversity, are among the five key principles highlighted by the group.
