Choose Europe for Science: what to expect of the "unprecedented" conference on 05/05/2025

Choose Europe for Science, organised by the French President's cabinet on the morning of 05/05/2025 at the Sorbonne (Paris), aims to "encourage researchers and public and private entrepreneurs from all over the world to choose Europe and France as their place of work", according to Emmanuel Macron's entourage on 30/04/2025.

The cabinet emphasises "the unprecedented nature of the conference", which will bring together representatives of French and European universities, representatives of the European Commission, heads of state and researchers, with the aim of "reaffirming research as a key factor in economic development" and positioning France and Europe as "stable areas where academic freedom is guaranteed".

The morning session will close with speeches by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.
