ETH Zurich: Increase in donations and graduates from 2023; funding difficulties ahead (2024 report)

"Over 2,700 donors and partners supported ETH Zurich philanthropically in 2024 with more than 3,500 donations, bequests and legacies amounting to over CHF160 M (€171.13 M) from individuals, foundations and companies", declares ETH Zurich's annual report, published on 23/04/2025. In 2023, the university reported CHF130 M in donations.

The university highlights that "the contributions provided impetus for development in areas where society urgently needs innovation", like healthcare and robotics.

"Support for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, outstanding Master’s students and up-and-coming young entrepreneurs strengthens the economy and society in the long term by fostering well-trained specialists with diverse backgrounds and ambitions."

In 2024, ETH Zurich says that 117 students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds were supported with needs-based scholarships, 58 outstanding Master’s students benefited from an Excellence Scholarship and 13 innovative young entrepreneurs were given access to infrastructure, mentoring and start-up funding via the Pioneer…
