ExclusiveE. Letta's "sound of alarm" to News Tank: "Community investment in alliances must at least triple"

"If I could wave a magic wand, I'd invest much more in European universities. This requires a collective, long-term commitment. Community investment in this project needs to be at least tripled. I'm sounding the alarm: the alliances are becoming even more important, and we need more Community investment, so each university can multiply its investment", says Enrico Letta, former Italian Prime Minister and Dean of IE's School of Political Science, Economics and Global Affairs, on 06/05/2025.

He answers News Tank's questions in an exclusive interview during the Civica alliance Global Forum, organised at IE University (Spain).

In his view, alliances play a central role in establishing the fifth freedom - that of innovation, research, education, knowledge, and skills - which must be the "European battle of the next ten years".
