Call for Applications “Champions of the European Student Card Initiative”; deadline on 16/05/2025

The European Commission will close its call for applications for the "Champions of the European Student Card Initiative (ESCI)" on 16/05/2025, which aims to reward higher education institutions and organisations that have made significant progress in adopting the various constituent elements of the ESCI.

The call is open in three categories, for institutions that have distinguished themselves in the implementation of:

• Erasmus Without Paper (EWP; a digital solution for HEIs to connect their Erasmus+ mobility management systems to manage their mobile students online),
• the European Student Card (ESC; "a common European identity for higher education students"),
• both EWP and ESC. They will be called the "Champions of Excellence".

In coordination with the Digital Officers of Erasmus+ National Agencies and according to the criteria in the call, DG EAC will select one ESCI Champion for each Erasmus+ National Agency.
