4EU+ European University Alliance: Elena Del Giorgio takes office as Secretary General

Elena Del Giorgio takes office as Secretary General of the 4EU+ European University Alliance on 13/05/2025, announces the alliance the same day.

Elena Del Giorgio previously held the roles of Policy Officer and Senior Policy Officer, and Interim Secretary General within the same organisation before being appointed Secretary General. She brings over a decade of academic experience from the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy), where she continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor and has played an active role in policy development.

She holds a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute and a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Bologna.

Alojzy Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw (Poland) and Chair of the 4EU+ Governing Board, states: “Her experience, insight, and vision will be instrumental in providing strategic guidance and addressing the complex challenges ahead.”
