Horizon Europe 2025 work programme: €7.3 Bn allocated, prioritising talent attraction and retention

The European Commission invests €7.3 Bn through its newly adopted Horizon Europe work programme for 2025, announces the institution on 14/05/2025.

"The programme will help attract and retain top researchers in Europe and offer targeted support to those affected by war and displacement. As part of these efforts, the Commission is updating the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions 2023-25 work programme part to offer more support for Ukrainian scientists and to launch a new MSCA ‘Choose Europe for Science' pilot. It will offer "more support and opportunities for early-career researchers, including competitive allowances and longer contracts".

MSCA benefits then from €1.255 Bn for 2025, "with an additional budget allocated to the ‘Choose Europe’ pilot project not initially included in the 2025 work programme. In addition, the contributions of associated countries have been added to the 2025 MSCA budget", a European Commission spokesperson tells News Tank.
