"Europe will always choose science" (Ursula von der Leyen at STOA-G6 R&I Summit)

"Europe will always remain the home of scientific freedom. Europe will always choose science. For me, this is not only a moral imperative, it is also the smartest choice, because scientific discovery powers prosperity. We must make Europe the best place in the world to pursue science through the entire lifecycle of innovation. We must ensure that scientists and entrepreneurs both Choose Europe", states Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on 04/06/2025 during the Stoa - G6 R&I Summit.

To make that happen, the President of the Commission focuses on:

• Funding: "Groundbreaking science requires stable and sustained investment. Europe is already a global leader [...] And we will go further. We will launch a new Competitiveness Fund to support the entire innovation lifecycle."
