Several European universities cutting ties with Israeli partners amid war in Palestine

The Trinity College Dublin board votes to cut ties with Israeli universities and companies, including ending all investments, commercial relationships, academic and research collaborations. The university will no longer facilitate Erasmus+ student exchange agreements with Israeli universities, it says on 04/06/2025.

This follows a series of meetings with staff and students, which were set up after student protests and an encampment on campus in reaction to the war in Palestine.

The University of Geneva (Switzerland) has "recently discontinued" its partnerships with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, it announces on 03/06/2025. Its collaborations take the form of bilateral agreements or are embedded within networks and alliances, like 4EU+ (a transnational strategic association of seven European universities), which the University of Geneva is chairing in 2025.

The same day, the university "expresses its indignation at the humanitarian situation in Gaza. It calls on all parties, and today especially on the Israeli government, to respect human rights and international humanitarian law"…
